LUX London Critical Forum is a year-long, monthly gathering for artists working with the moving image. It’s a space to explore ideas and practices in a mutually supportive environment, in dialogue with LUX and other LUX-supported Critical Forum groups across the UK and Ireland.

What is it?

This is not a crit group. It’s a space to think together about new approaches to contemporary artistic practice, and build lasting connections. Each session is shaped by the interests of the participants and may include presentations (individual or collaborative), group discussions, or creative activities.

When and Where?

The group will meet monthly on Wednesday evenings, 6:45 – 9pm BST.

The meetings will take place in person at LUX, Waterlow Park Centre, Highgate, London.

The forum will run for 12 months starting in July 2025.

Who is it for?

  • No longer in full-time education
  • Willing to commit to attending monthly meetings for 12 months (The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month (except for a break in January)
  • Available to attend the mandatory 1st meeting on 16 July, 6:45 – 8pm BST.
