Applications are now open for the Deutsche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Award 2027. The initiative, presented in partnership with critically acclaimed Ghetto Film School, offers a platform and development programme to six emerging Los Angeles-based filmmakers. The selected Fellows will participate in an intensive four-month programme led by GFS to produce their films, culminating in two prizes awarded at Frieze Los Angeles in February 2027 – the Jury Award and the Audience Award. A jury comprising leading figures in contemporary art and entertainment will select the Jury Award winner, while the public will be able to cast their votes and nominate their favourite film for the Audience Award.

Previous winners of the Deutsche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Jury Award and Audience Award have been Joey Bueno Breese and Devin O’Guinn (2026) Ja'lisa Arnold and Christopher Guerrero (2025), Kaylen Ng and Britt Williams (2024), Irene Gil-Ramon and Shandrea Evans (2023), Diante Singley and Adham Elnashai (2022), John Rizkallah and Jane Chow (2021) and Silvia Lara (2020).
